One of the famous landmarks in Iloilo is the Campo Santo located in the town of San Joaquin built during the Spanish era. In December 2015, the National Museum of the Philippines declared the cemetery as a National Cultural Treasure for its unique cultural property found locally, possessing outstanding historical, cultural, artistic and scientific value which is highly significant and important to the country. The cemetery was established by Augustinian priest, Mariano Vamba in 1892.
